“We would like to introduce you to our little princess KAMILYA, she was born yesterday (Dec 18th at 5h12pm),” Bartoli posted on Instagram. “We are the happiest parents in the world, and we thank God so much for this wonderful gift.”
The couple had announced the pregnancy back in May.
The 36-year-old Frenchwoman and Boumediene, a professional soccer player, tied the knot in November of 2018.
Bartoli’s crowning moment came in 2013 at Wimbledon, which saw her lift her lone Grand Slam trophy, after which she promptly retired to become a television analyst and commentator.
She then went through many difficulties in her personal life, including a serious bout with anorexia brought on by a toxic relationship.

Marion Bartoli interviewed Rafael Nadal on court at Roland Garros in October
Manhandled by a tyrannical companion, who humiliated and abused her, Bartoli is quoted by Geraldine Maillet in her autobiography entitled ‘Renaître: Autobiographie (Documents, témoignages et essais d’actualité) [Reborn: Autobiography – Documents, testimonies and topical essays] as saying: “The more I lose weight, the more I disappear and I feel the end approaching calm me.
“My stomach has gangrene, I am only a terminal stage. My mouth can no longer chew, my stomach can no longer digest. I am only a shiver, a shadow, a spectre (…) If I eat something other than cucumber without skin, I have attacks of tachycardia and a fever of 39 ° C .“
Her body became deformed, little by little: “My legs are twisted by cramps, chest without breasts, ass without buttocks, sparse hair, disgusting varnish, damaged skin. I am devastated,” she added.
At this stage of the disease, she weighed only 41 kilos and was close to death, before being hospitalised as an emergency in Italy and then Paris to gain weight.
At the time she revealed that she had a ‘nameless bacteria’, a mysterious ‘virus that my body fights. That’s why it doesn’t let me eat anything’.
Her ordeal was in 2016 and, four years later, Marion Bartoli has managed to get out of the toxic relationship, regained her health, and is now fully recovered, testimony to recovery, and happy with the 30-year-old Belgian footballer Yahya Boumediene, whom she married discreetly and without fuss.
“I LOVE YOU MY DAUGHTER 💕👶 I LOVE YOU MY HUSBAND,” Bartoli posted with two special photographs on Instagram announcing the birth of her daughter.
