Delray Beach | Norrie ousts third seed

Cameron Norrie, who has dropped to third in the national rankings having slipped down to 60 in the world, claimed a 6-4 6-7(4) 6-4 victory over third seed Taylor Fritz in round two of at the Delray Beach.
Norrie won the first set against the American only to be pulled back n the second after leading 4-2 but claimed his spot in the last 16 in the third where he will meet another American, wildcard Brandon Nakashima for a quarter-final spot.
Norrie is the only Brit in action after Kyle Edmund, last week’s New York champion, pulled out of the event with an illness. Earlier the top seed Australian Nick Kyrgios withdrew with a wrist injury.
In other on-court action second seed Milos Raonic progressed following a comprehensive 6-2 6-2 win against Denis Istomin, but defending champion and eighth seed Radu Albot suffered a 3-6 6-3 7-6(2) loss to wild card Jack Sock.
Fourth seeded American Reilly Opelka received a tougher-than-expected challenge against qualifier Ernests Gulbis but managed to overcome the Latvian in three sets 6-7(5) 6-4 7-6(4).
