Johanna Konta has split from her coach Michael Joyce who has been with her for just under a year.
The British No.1 has been struggling of late to replicate the form which saw her rise into the top ten and nearly make the WTA Championships last year. Joyce looked a like an excellent choice but the pair don’t seem to have gelled as expected.
Currently languishing in the forties she is expected to play Moscow next week before bringing her season to a close and begin a search for a new coach for next year.
She split with Spaniard Esteban Carril in 2016, the coach who guided her to into the top ten and replaced him with Belgium’s Wim Fisette for last year only to dismiss him and pair up with American Joyce for this season.
While Konta has seen her ranking slip she has produced some excellent results including a whitewash over Serena Williams.
She has also decided to move management companies, switching from Octagon to Starwing Sports who look after Kyle Edmund.
