London | Murray withdraws from Rosmalen

It is with regret that we have to report that Andy Murray won’t be making that long-awaited return to the Tour at Rosmalen as expected.

The tournament organisers announced on Tuesday night that the Scot has withdrawn from the event which would have seen him playing it for the first time in his career.

However Murray, confirming his withdrawal, insists there is still a chance he will be making his return during the grass court season.

“It is with regret that I won’t be ready to play in Hertogenbosch. I was excited to play there for the first time but I am not quite ready to return. I am still aiming to play in the coming weeks, but I want to be 100% fit when I do return,” Murray said.

The 31-year-old can now be expected to make his public appearance on court at the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen’s.
