The first of the womenÈs Miami Open semi-finals will feature the second seed Karolina Pliskova against the former world No1 Caroline Wozniacki.
I was feeling more confident with this match. I had a different game plan today
Pliskova booked her place first when she beat the in-form Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-2 6-4 after just 72-minutes for what will be her first appearance at the semi-final stage of the Miami Premier Mandatory event.
"I think I played much better here than I was playing [in Melbourne, when she lost to the Croatan]," Pliskova said in her post-match press conference. "Also, the conditions here are different, and she was playing better tennis there because it was faster. It suited her better in Australia.
"So definitely I was feeling more confident with this match. I had a different game plan today."
Later Wozniacki joined her in the last four with a straight sets win over Lucie Safarova.
The No 12 seed from Denmark required nearly two hours to dispatch her Czech opponent 6-4 6-3.
