Sydney | Murray and Soares lift doubles title
Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares as the second seeds, defeated the top-seeded Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah 6-4 6-3 to capture the Sydney International doubles title.
The Briton and his Brazilian partner broke the Colombian duo in the 10th game of the first set to win the opener. Murray, 32, and 36-year-old Soares surged ahead to go into a 3-0 lead and held firm to collect their first Sydney title since 2016 after 75-minutes of play.
Elsewhere, unseeded Ben McLachlan and Jan-Lennard Struff won the 2019 ASB Classic men’s doubles title in Auckland.
