Wimbledon | A roof for all

Wimbledon | A roof for all

With the New No.1 Court roof set to be unveiled on Sunday, the Wimbledon Foundation is this weekend running an online auction of special tennis memorabilia and experiences in aid of ‘A Roof For All’, the Foundation’s initiative to combat homelessness in Merton and right across London.

Amongst the exciting lots available to bid for is a chance to play four-time Wimbledon semi-finalist Tim Henman for a game of tennis at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The former British number 1 and BBC commentator will welcome you to the All England Club where you will enjoy one hour of tennis on the Aorangi Practice Courts, the practice facilities for competitors at The Championships.

To mark the Foundation’s fifth anniversary, our new Homelessness Fund aims to strengthen local homelessness charities. Whilst No.1 Court will have a roof from 2019 onwards, an increasing number of people do not have a roof over their head. Since the Foundation began, homelessness has increased steadily in with a 73% increase in rough sleepers in England over the past three years alone. The Homelessness Fund will make a substantial contribution over three years to increase the capacity of local organisations working to tackle this growing problem.

Details of the auction can be found at wimbledonfoundationauction.com
